Refunds and right of withdrawal
Draft version 0.1 · last edited 17 October 2026
1. Your 14-day right of withdrawal
If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK, you have the right to withdraw from your Dawni membership within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day the contract is concluded, which is the day you start your membership (including a free trial) at checkout.
Memberships are sold by Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record, so refunds are paid by Paddle. You can tell either us or Paddle that you want to withdraw.
2. How to withdraw
To exercise the right of withdrawal, tell us of your decision with a clear statement, for example by using the online withdrawal form (we’ll confirm receipt by email straight away), or by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL] or writing to [FULL NAME], a sole trader (empresário em nome individual) registered in Portugal, of [ADDRESS], NIF [NIF], email [CONTACT EMAIL]. You may use the model withdrawal form, but it isn’t obligatory. To meet the deadline, it’s enough to send your notice before the 14 days are up.
3. Starting straight away
Dawni is a service that starts as soon as you want it. At checkout we ask you to tick this box before you can pay:
“I want Dawni to start now, during the 14-day withdrawal period. If I withdraw, I’ll pay only for the service already provided.”
We record that you ticked it, with the date and time. If you then withdraw within the 14 days, you’ll pay an amount in proportion to the service provided up to the moment you told us you were withdrawing, compared with the full contract. If you withdraw during the free trial, there’s nothing to pay.
4. Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw, we (through Paddle) will reimburse all payments received from you, minus any proportionate amount for service already provided as explained above, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we’re told of your decision. The refund uses the same payment method you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise, and you won’t pay any fees because of the refund.
5. After the 14 days
You can cancel at any time from Settings, Membership. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We don’t normally refund part-used periods, but if something went wrong on our side, such as calls not being placed, contact us and we’ll put it right, which may include a refund. This doesn’t affect your legal rights, for example if the service isn’t as described. [CONFIRM POLICY; CHECK PADDLE’S REFUND POLICY ALIGNS]
6. Renewals
We’ll remind you by email about 3 days before your free trial ends. [CONFIRM WHETHER RENEWAL REMINDERS ARE NEEDED FOR YEARLY PLANS UNDER UK SUBSCRIPTION RULES]
7. Complaints
Email [CONTACT EMAIL]. Consumers in Portugal can also use the Livro de Reclamações (electronic complaints book). Alternative dispute resolution entity: [ADR ENTITY NAME, WEBSITE AND ADDRESS].
